Pollinators, Berries, & Climate Change

October 8 @ 9:00 am – 9:30 am

Through a puppet story and song, we learned how pollinators create berries and how extreme weather caused by climate change threatens pollinators’ access to flowers and our access to berries. We created different pollinators, visited different photos of berry-producing flowers and dipped our pollinators into the “pollen” (cornstarch), spreading the “pollen” around to all the different flowers. During the pollination activity, students avoided being tagged and slowed down by extreme weather (climate change).
