Open House: Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library

October 7 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Free

See some of the most important scientific books ever printed, up close. Highlights include a 14th-century Latin manuscript of Euclid’s Elements, Copernicus’s revolutionary 16th-century work on planetary motion, and Andreas Vesalius’s landmark anatomical illustrations, along with early works in chemistry, physics, biology and medicine.

This year, you can also learn about the Library’s work where science meets cultural heritage and try a hands-on station that shows how science reveals the pigments, inks and materials used to make rare books.
