When looking for things to do in Montreal, what could be better than immersing yourself in the heart of the city? The Science Centre is celebrating its Montreal identity with four challenges inspired by the city. Come up with technological solutions and build them using all sorts of objects and real tools.
1. The Metro challenges you to create an invention capable of flying through an air tube and emerging from the top.
2. Ville-Marie, inspired by the original name of Montreal, involves building a flat structure that meets certain dimensions. It is a highly interactive activity that uses, amongst other things, motors, LED bulbs and switches.
3. Le Mont – a nod to Mont Royal – challenges you to build a vehicle capable of travelling down a slope and coming to a halt in a predetermined area. Please note: road conditions vary depending on whether it is summer or winter on the mountain.
4. ‘Le Fleuve’, which takes its name from the St Lawrence, invites you to build a prototype that can float between the surface of the water and the bottom of the tank for at least 10 seconds.
Fabrik2 is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm. On weekdays, mornings are reserved for school groups. Afternoon opening times vary: please check with our call centre or at the ticket office on the day of your visit.
