Visit the Iris Griffith Nature Centre to view an art exhibit on Orca whales by Pender Harbour artists. Inspired by the natural world, art teacher Shelley Stunnell inspires students to create and learn about their surroundings and to ask questions and seek knowledge. Her approach has gained her recognition in the community as an advocate for wild animals and the environment. This 2 week-long exhibit will culminate as a celebration of art and science with a lecture by BC Cetacean Sighting Network Coordinator Jessica Torode, providing insight into the underwater world of orcas and cetacean acoustics. Stay tuned for celebration and lecture details.
